Phew. Although I have done the 30 days in urban marks, I can't seem to get out of them. So there have been more again this week. Tried a little to get into colour and those have potential too. They need putting away because I have become too close to them. Need to change what my focus is so they apcan breathe ! The images are more or less around the a4 size, some on paper, some mountboard, some board. All have different qualities.
The art group this week are looking at,' proper painting,' urban images, drawing initially done with charcoal. So this mornings piece is just done so. I drew a simple outline with charcoal and then put a wash over it ( in phlourescent pink for the hell of it ) to fix the charcoal. Painted over the drawing and for me tried to simplify the shapes and clutter that's in the photo. Will live with the resulting image.
These images need sifting, maybe selecting out ....overwhelmed by them ....too close to them....

Urban marks, complete series.
So, I have completed my 30 days of Urban mark making. Loved it, hated it and everything inbetween. Trying to critique the finished body of 30 days work....2 , 12 inch sq. Boards, 5 paintings on mountcard amd the bulk of the body of work, 38 works on paper, mainly print based but worked back into. For the last couple of days, I have been collecting the pieces together , photographing and recording them...still not sure about a lot of the images, they need some more living with ( was it Pollock that said accepting a finished pieces back into your ego is the hard bit and it so is with these...not sure why yet ! I am trying to get the works listed on Pinterest but the light has been and still is sooo poor. I have tried with spotlights but the colours in the work look unnatural and nothing like the real thing. As an artist, you are so only as good as the photographs of your art !
These are the works on paper...no titles to encourage you to create your own...
