Tonie Rigby French room

Seems so long since the Daily Painting project when I was completely into the painting and the blogging. I am having a break from painting. It all seems so pointless if the paintings don't go anywhere and although I have tried a few galleries , I have had not much luck. So, I am busy creating in a different way... Redecorating rooms and turning my house almost into a gallery. This is my French room.

I have used the Daily paintings ( distilled landscapes ) to form a wrap around display in the room. I made the sign just out of card.

Liked the wrap around display. It did remind me of the South of France, although the paintings were not specifically about France.

This bedding chest was done by the Upcycling group I run at Emmaus Mossley. Loved it.

Cushions made from patchwork vintage textiles from Emmaus Mossley.patchwork bedspread also from Emmaus.

I painted the bed white.

I painted and distressed the mirror, decoupaged a table mat and have been experimenting with preserving flowers in glycerene.

We have had the footstool for around 25 years. It looks good decoupaged .

Tablecloths as curtains.

Box decoupaged with napkin.

Bottle decoupaged by the Upcycling group and paper flowers made out of napkin using the concertina method.

I mounted paintings and just put them up with blue tack but in the end thought it was too much so took it down. Maybe if that was the only art in the room it would work.

Although I have never really been interested in interior design , I have enjoyed this room so much.it hasn't cost a lot of money , mainly things were from Emmaus Mossley where I run my Art group and Upcyling group. I love it.
