The first for the olive wall

Right, so after a success in the kitchen with the display, I decided to do the same in the lounge, eg paint a wall a colour then do almost site specific daily paintings. I am looking for a kind of olive colour, so hopefully will get that painted today.

So , with this in mind , I am thinking about paintings that might look good on green. This was the first. It was blended quite a lot but I liked that - well today.

I do sit on the fence with my paintings. That fence between abstract and figurative. I don't mind that though.i look at this painting and see a kind of landscape that could be viewed almost as a landscape viewed through half open eyes, or filtered through my memory.Live the paint.

Display of the kitchen ones.

The six daily paintings displayed in the kitchen.I like them today. They seem , pretty , romantic, light in content. Strange isn't it that somehow, subconsciously I seem to have made sure that there was some red in them , almost to match the red leather seats ! Might be interesting to paint anther wall in another colour to create the paintings to go on them. Maybe overtly green, maybe navy blue, maybe very dark brown.
Daily painting no 213, 28/10/14 . Felt romantic. I do blend an awful lot ands ometimes I blend too much so I blend the painting away.Try a real sky.

Finishing off the kitchen ones

Daily painting no 212, 27/10/14 .Liked the trees and the tree marks. I made them by painting a piece of card and then almost printing it off onto the painting.Keep going.

Kitchen display

Gentle, warm, peaceful.didn't mind it at all.

I used a combination of glazed using the golden glaze medium , which I love and liquid acrylic in these applicators with a nozzle on. I got them off ebay and I think that they are for hairdressing . I mix the paint just with water and then put it in the applicator and use it like a pencil I could tr mixing the paint with glaze medium or pva in the same applicators.

Painting up a sketch

So, this was the sketch I picked.Although I am not mad about the composition, I like ; the suggestion of trees, the colours which I can't replicate, the calmness, the warmth, the depth. Ok here goes.
Well I didn't dislike it. Try another.
Well, I didn't dislike this one either. Think I will do a display for the kitchen, it's a soft coffee wall. Try it.
Well this one had loads of incarnations before it became this. Strange but I think that it might well be a calming one when it's displayed in a group.

Pressure

Well, not touched a paintbrush for a couple of days, got behind with the Daily Paintings. Feel under pressure with them and at a point of, ' Why am I even doing this ? ' Don't know what 's brought this on but want to turn it around. I don't want to just stop the Daily Paintings and feel the project should be stronger for having been tested. What can I do ?

Try on paper - less pressure
Try on smaller boards - less pressure
Try just putting colour down
Try monotone
Try experimental work / tipping/printing/pouring
Try watercolours
Try collage
Try painting in the woods
Try looking back at old paintings to use as a stepping off point
Try painting up a sketch YES - I fancy doing that ........... Have a paint day ....... Watch this space
